San Diego Zoo Coupons
San Diego Zoo discount tickets were a precious find for us, as it is almost impossible to satisfy my 3 year olds inquisitive mind. Being very fond of animals in general, he could hardly wait for the next day to begin. Not surprisingly, his excitement caused him to have a sleepless night and we ended up starting our zoo adventure a little later than we had planned. Inspite of the delay, my son’s energy knew no bounds when we finally reached the San Diego Zoo after a 2 hour drive which was peppered by “are we there yet?”
The San Diego Zoo houses over 3700 animals of more than 650 different species, including the giant panda. The exhibits were designed around particular habitats like they are found in the wild. Different animals which coexist together in the wild can be found along with their native plants.
It was all the more enjoyable for my son as the San Diego Zoo has cage-less exhibits, which give more freedom to the animals to relax in their natural setting. The immediate response from my son was “wont they get out?” , I was able to resolve his anxiety by showing him the moats and other invisible barricades that had been set up to avoid unforeseen situations.
We took the guided bus tour that was available in the facility so that we don’t end up missing any exhibit. The bus turned out to be a double Decker and we got to the top to get a great view. This bus tour was a smart choice for us as we enjoyed our time at the zoo a lot better.
There were lots of people at the zoo, and as we struck conversations around we realized that we were not the only ones to find San Diego Zoo discount tickets. There was this young couple who had found a much better deal than us online, they advised us to look out kid free days for our next visit. We learnt that were also other categories of discount tickets such as San Diego Zoo discount tickets for military – All military personnel with valid military identification are given free admission and their dependent family members get a 10% discount on their tickets.
San Diego Zoo kids free days – Each year in the month of October, children aged between 3 years and 11 years receive free admission when accompanied by an adult. This deal is in honor of the Zoo’s founding.
In addition, you could also pick up $4 discount coupons from Costco. As the price of admission is $44 per adult, it feels a bit over priced but the overall experience at the zoo is amazing.
The zoo staff too were very helpful and patiently answered a lot of my son’s questions. They seemed to be very happy with their jobs and that was very evident from their enthusiasm. They also provided valuable information on how to conserve our environment, which had a profound effect on our 3 year old.
The snack bars restaurants gave us the much needed energy to continue the trip. It was very exciting for all of us to see the big tigers proudly walking in their enclosure, and the majestic elephants looked so regal. The most enjoyable part though, was seeing the giant pandas. There was a baby panda in the pack which was so cute and playful which caused smiles all around.
The main attraction for my son though, proved to be the tall and elegant giraffes. He just couldn’t believe his eyes that the giraffes were so tall that he had to squint his eyes to take a better look.
We returned home late at night as we managed to stay till closing time. The San Diego Zoo trip had proved to be an enjoyable trip for all of us. We were delighted with the clean facilities in the zoo, and the animals too seemed to be well taken care of. The only change in plan for the next trip would be to get great San Diego Zoo discount tickets.
